Summer Fun: Mountains and Family

This last week we were a busy little family. One of our favorite things about summer time is being able to get out into the mountains and just explore. We also love spending as much time with our family as we can, and this last week we got to do both!
  On Wednesday Nate, myself, and Aaron loaded up in the truck, brought the dogs with us too, and drove up Hobble Creek Canyon to explore. We were trying to make our way to Strawberry Resivor, but didn't make the correct turn, and ended up coming out Spanish Fork Canyon instead. That's ok though, it was a great drive. Aaron did awesome! He liked the bouncy roads, and just stared at the dogs when we were out of the truck walking around. The dogs love the mountains too. They run around chasing anything they can find. Plus there was a stream so of course the had to splash in that as much as possible.
   After one stop of playing and walking around, Hatti was soaking wet and we told her to get into the truck. She went around to the truck and jumped on in. Then we opened the front of the truck to get ourselves in, and the next thing we know Hatti comes running around the truck and jumps like lighting into the front seat. What a mess, but just as quick as she jumped in, Nate pulled her right out. She wasn't expecting that. It was a little funny. We cleaned off the seat, got Aaron in his car seat and headed off. It was a fun drive.

Another fun thing we did this last week was attended the Scottish Festival in Payson Utah. My sister Brenda was preforming with her Scottish dance group, so our family all got together to go and support/watch her dance.
  A long, long time ago, I use to do the Scottish dance thing with my sisters. I know, hard to believe, but it is true. I think I danced until around 5th or 6th grade. Then I had enough. But it was fun to go and watch Brenda. She did a great job. All of the little nephews had a grand time listening to the music and dancing along too. Aaron stayed a wake the whole time as well just looking around and listening to the music. He likes to be a part of the party!
